10 Songs for Introverts Who Need a Confidence Boost

Let’s be honest: being an introvert isn’t always easy. Society seems to favor those who are loud, talkative, and bold. But there comes a time in an introvert’s life when you just don’t care anymore about what people think. This, my friends, is the beauty of confidence!

Owning your introversion takes time, but you will get there. To help, I’ve put together a playlist of 10 of my favorite songs that will give you an instant confidence boost about your introverted nature. These songs will help get you to that place of not feeling ashamed for daydreaming, being quiet, and needing alone time to recharge. Let’s dive into them, shall we?

1. Alessia Cara – “Here”

If there ever was an anthem for introverts, this would be it! The first time I heard this song, I flipped out. I love how Alessia refers to herself as an “antisocial pessimist,” poking fun at society’s misconceptions about introverts.

2. Gypsy & The Cat feat. Paul Kelly – “Climb Into The Music”

Being a music writer, it’s pretty obvious that music is my life. This song is for any deep-thinking introvert who needs to shut out the world for a bit.

3. Banks – “F*** With Myself”

From yet another badass introvert, this is the song to blast whenever you need to feel like a god or goddess yourself. A track about admitting your faults and being your own worst critic, this one comes in handy when you need a reminder that you’re only human and that the harsh words of others are a reflection of them, not you.

4. Jamie xx feat. Romy – “Loud Places”

The xx is the ultimate band of introverts. This song speaks volumes on how it can be hard to find deep connections, especially with this line: “I go to loud places to search for someone to be quiet with.” Not exactly something I would do but the concept has always intrigued me.

5. Bridgit Mendler – “Library”

Because what introvert doesn’t want to fall in love at a library? Enough said.

6. Phoebe Ryan – “Mine”

The first time I heard this song, I was in the middle of my worst breakdown. Everyone was telling me to just let it go and get over it, but this song was a refreshing reminder that it was okay to feel everything deeply and to hold on to my pain until I felt it was the right time to let it go.

7. Broods feat. Tove Lo – “Freak of Nature”

It was a full-on sob fest the first time I heard this one. Lead singer Georgia Nott is a fellow highly sensitive empath/introvert, so hearing her story of the difficulties of feeling everything at once made what I was going through at the time easier to bear.

8. Garbage – “Teaching Little Fingers To Play”

Anyone who knows me knows that Garbage is my favorite band of humans on the entire planet. This song embodies what it means to grow into your own and come to terms with the fact that it is simply impossible to please everybody. Do it your own way and you’ll always come out on top.

9. Twenty One Pilots – “Ride”

You may have already heard this song. Twenty One Pilots are on the ride of their lives right now (pun intended) and this song showcases the art of dancing in the midst of chaos. Life doesn’t have to be perfect, and if you take your time on the ride, you’ll discover there’s more to life than just the end goal.

10. Bad Suns – “Off She Goes”

Anyone ever tell you that you daydream too much? This song looks at daydreaming from someone else’s perspective, and what happens when we fall inside ourselves while our bodies remain firmly rooted in reality.
